The free online whiteboard
that never asks you to log in
Click once and you are drawing. JustDraw is a hand-drawn style whiteboard and diagram tool that runs entirely in your browser — no account, no email, no trial, and it keeps working when your internet drops.

Most online whiteboards want your email first
You search for a free whiteboard, click the first result, and land on a sign-up form. Then a workspace invite. Then a paywall on exporting your own drawing. JustDraw skips all of it — the first thing you see is a blank canvas.

A real drawing tool, not a toy
Everything below is in the free whiteboard. There is no pro tier.
Hand-drawn shapes
Rectangles, diamonds, ellipses, arrows, lines and a pressure-sensitive pen, all rendered in a loose sketch style you can dial from neat to scruffy.
Arrows that stick
Drop an arrow end onto a shape and it stays attached. Move, resize or rotate the shape and the arrow re-routes itself.
Labels inside shapes
Double-click any shape to type inside it. Text wraps automatically and the box grows to fit. Three fonts, four sizes, full alignment control.
PNG & SVG export
Export the whole board or just your selection, at 1×, 2× or 3×, with or without a background, light or dark. Or copy straight to the clipboard.
Grid & smart snapping
Turn on the grid for tidy diagrams, or let alignment guides snap edges and centres to the shapes already on your canvas.
Laser pointer
A fading red trail for pointing things out while you present or teach — it draws nothing permanent on the board.
Dark mode
Light, dark, or follow your system. A board drawn in daylight stays perfectly readable at night.
Frames, groups & layers
Group related shapes, drop them into frames, align and distribute, and reorder anything front to back.
Nothing to lose
Your board saves itself as you draw and reopens where you left off. Save a file to your computer whenever you want a permanent copy.
What people use the whiteboard for
One blank canvas, a lot of jobs. Because there is no account step, it is just as quick to use for a thirty-second sketch as for an hour-long lesson.
Online teaching & tutoring
Share your screen, draw the problem out, point at it with the laser, then export the finished page and send it to your student. They never need to create anything.
Software diagrams
Boxes, labels and sticky arrows are usually all an architecture sketch needs. Paste a Mermaid flowchart and it lays itself out for you.
Thinking out loud
Infinite canvas, instant undo and a pen that feels like a pen. Good for the messy stage before anything is decided.
Interview whiteboarding
No install and no login means you can open a board mid-call and start drawing before anyone has finished the sentence.
Annotating screenshots
Drag an image onto the canvas, circle the broken bit, add an arrow and a note, then copy the result to your clipboard.
Teaching kids at home
Big pen sizes, bright colours and nothing that can bill you. Nothing to sign a child up for either.
What JustDraw doesn't do
JustDraw has no server. That is what makes it instant, private and free — and it also means several people can't draw on the same board at the same time. If live multiplayer editing is what you need, you want a collaborative tool with accounts, and that is a fair trade to make.
Everything else is here: the full tool set, unlimited boards, clean exports and offline use. You can still hand a board to someone else — export a PNG or SVG, or save the board file and send it over.
Keyboard shortcuts
Every tool has a one-key shortcut, so you can draw without going back to the toolbar. Press ? inside the whiteboard for the full list.
Frequently asked questions
Is JustDraw really free?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no trial, no watermark on exports and no paid tier holding features back. JustDraw is paid for by a single small sponsor placement — one slot, never over your canvas, and you can hide it. That is what keeps the whole thing free and account-free.
Do I need an account to use the whiteboard?
No. There is no sign up, no email and no login screen anywhere in the product. Click Open whiteboard and you are drawing.
Where are my drawings saved?
In your own browser. JustDraw saves your board to local storage as you work, so it is still there next time you open it. You can also save a board file to your computer and open it again later, on any machine.
Does the online whiteboard work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the whiteboard runs entirely in your browser. Drawing, exporting and saving all keep working with no connection.
Can I use it for online teaching or tutoring?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. The grid, large pen sizes and laser pointer are made for explaining things on a shared screen, and your students never have to create an account to see the result.
Can several people draw on the same board at once?
Not yet. JustDraw is single-user by design — no server is what keeps it instant, private and free. To share, export a PNG or SVG, or send the saved board file.
What can I export?
PNG at up to 3× resolution, scalable SVG, or a copy straight to your clipboard. Export the whole board or just the part you selected, with or without a background, in light or dark.
Is this a good Excalidraw alternative?
If you like the hand-drawn look but want a board that never asks you to sign
in and keeps working offline, yes. The drawing tools, keyboard shortcuts and
export options cover the same ground, JustDraw opens
.excalidraw scene files directly, and it can save back to that
format too — so nothing you have already drawn gets stranded.
Does it work on a tablet or with a stylus?
Yes. The canvas handles pen and touch input, and the freehand tool responds to pen pressure, so strokes thicken and taper the way a real pen does.
What happens to my data?
Your drawings never leave your device. There is no account, no server storing your boards, and nothing — advertising included — can see or read what you draw. The sponsor placement is a plain image and some text; it has no access to the canvas.
